Tuesday 11th March

SHE’S SHOUTING AGAIN:

I hear her voice through the wall, hand raised, fingers
wrapped in metal rings and a smaller voice.
“We haven’t got time for this!” she says,
“It’s too late and I’m too tired!”
I turn the radio off and listen, waiting for the escalation.
Too much,
Too fast,
Too far,
then apologies beneath clouds of guilt. It’s on a loop,
keeps coming round, one more broken thing at sunrise.

  1. Dear Mr. Hyde,

I was introduced to the music of Underworld this evening while watching an episode of Queer as Folk (the US version) in which the Underworld track “Sola Sistim” is featured at the end of the episode (Season 3/Episode 6). In the version of the show I am watching on Netflix, however, the track has some gorgeous lyrics and melody that is not included in the version of the song that I can locate at large online. Even the lyrics do not yield any results in a Google search.

    The lyrics are:

    Separation without a break
    Catatonic but still awake
    Frozen over
    But still there’s ashes
    Burning with desire

    Walk among the ruins
    Walk among the dead
    Walk among the victims
Of the games inside your head

    Unhook me
    Unhook me

Is this version of the song commercially available? I absolutely love it.

Also, please accept my apologies for the unrelated reply to your blog post. Thank you for your time.

    • I’m also dying to know if there is a commercial version of this song available. Its absolutely haunting and I’d love to hear this version in its entirety. Please let me know if there is somewhere I can get my hands on it.

    • I am also looking for that song and can’t find it. Your post was the first thing that popped up after a google search. Have you found the song? I love this song the used on season 3 episode 6

  2. I was JUST searching for the same thing. What a beautiful song! Such a shame songs like that aren’t popular and the songs that ARE popular barely show any passion or emotion like that. I can’t figure out what that song is too and the sola sistem song is totally different so I don’t know. Have you figured the mystery out yet?

  3. A lot of the original music from the show was replaced with different, but very similar, songs when the show was put up on Netflix (having to do w/ licensing the music for different media versions of the show). You can hear a lot of these once you realize they’re there, they sound like fakes or ripoffs of actual popular songs (another good example is the song replacing Matthew Goode’s “Weapon” in the Brian/Justin loft sex scene in ep 3:9). It’s very likely that this mysterious version of the song with the lyrics above is not actually the Underworld song, but another of these imitations written specifically for the netflix version of QaF. I totally love this song in the netflix version but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist anywhere else.

  4. I agree with everyone. I watched the original series ten years ago, and never heard this song. But upon revisiting the QAF this year, I discovered this song (season 3, episode 6) on Netflix. It was never placed on any of the soundtracks. I ordered several. It never appeared. Where is it !!!!!!!!

  5. What everyone below my comment has just said….
Where can I get my hands on this track that played on Season 3 on QAF during the ending credits?
    Pretty please…
My ears totally need to have an orgasm, this is such foreplay
