AN EXACT POINT ON A MAP:
The crumpled up woman reads a hardback book,
Which,
In it’s self,
Is weird,
And wonderful

OPEN:
A woman sits at the end of the carriage,
Like a screwed up piece of paper,
As the announcement of the name of a town reminds me,
Of a song I wrote about it,
Back in a time when I was escaping the place I wanted to be
(K)

LIFT TO OPEN:
The train horn bellows like a small cow,
Harmonising with the wind,
The night out here beyond the city has no lights inside it,
I watch my face reflected in it,
Exactly where I want it to be
(K)

TAR PAPER:
The door from the next carriage bursts open,
In walks a giant with a tiny head,
A tiny plastic bottle of water in his giant hand,
Or perhaps,
Vodka,
But no,
His eyes are too kind
(K)

WASH MY SINS AWAY:
The wheels of this train are squealing,
Singing,
“You don’t live in a perfect country”,
A woman kisses a woman’s cheek,
The big man lifts his bag & leaves,
A woman’s pre-recorded voice tells me where I am,
Exactly where I want to be
(Listening to: Hedvig Mollestad Trio – ‘Smells Funny’)
(K)

BARRIER TO BRUTALISM:
I’m riding a train at night,
There’s nothing weird about that,
There’s a big man breathing garlic,
From across the aisle,
It doesn’t bother me,
It reminds me I’m not safe at home,
I’m exactly where I want to be
(K)

METAL ON THE NIGHT ROOF:
The boy who’s sharp as a pencil,
Gives his best pose for free,
It’s cost him everything,
A calculated gambler,
He wins,
She wins,
Everybody looses
(K)

DRYING CLOTHES AT THE LATE NIGHT BRUTAL CARWASH:
She’s got a tiny man,
She’s got a woollen head,
She’s got a smile for the boy who lives on a shelf,
The boy is sharp,
A new pencil in a funky suit,
With wires,
To deliver all his needs
(K)

SAY IT WITH FLOWERS,
A crash,
Interrupted by a wall,
A laugh,
Interrupted by a muted horn,
A fast walk,
Interrupted by a suntan,
A time remembered,
Interrupted by the news,
An uncouth way of entering a room,
Looking for love
(K)

IRON BONES:
A man lives on an island,
The island is too expensive to reach,
He sends me pictures,
Tells me stories,
Wants me to visit,
But I don’t have the money
