LOVERS KNOT:
Two people appear in the foreground & stare at him,
Like he’s weird,
Their mouths are open,
But no sound comes out,
A dog appears,
Looks them in the eyes,
And leads them away

SHOW ME A SIGN:
I see a man in the distance,
He remains in the distance,
Like a tiny sculpture,
Standing still,
Like that song,
From a table

MOBILE HOMES:
Why do you take photographs?
Why did you start?
Was it your aunty’s camera?
The Black plastic Kodak,
The one she kept in the back of the drawer,
The drawer in the dresser,
Stuffed with paper packets of Black & White memories
(K)

WATERTIGHT:
People want to go to these far flung places,
But they don’t know how long it takes to get there,
I say,
“Do you know how long it takes to get there?”
They say,
“No, but we’re going anyway”
And they go

BUILDING BLOCKS:
The rain was was on time,
Washing away the dust,
We laughed,
Remarking how beautiful it was,
Like the first time,
Remember?
Showering,
Driving together to that cafe,
To meet with friends,
To talk like teenagers,
Inspired by imagination
(Listening to Møster – ’States Of Mind’ )

AND I’LL BLOW YOUR HOUSE DOWN!:
She’s painted like a wooden doll,
Powder White,
Pink cheeks,
Her fingers,
Her rings tell the whole story,
If only I could read the signs,
Smiles,
Skittish,
Remains professional,
Just
(listening to Moskus – ‘Mirakler’)

FLAT-PACK HOME:
The boys at Tottenham greet one another,
In expensive leather called ‘New York’,
And girls in long winter dresses smile,
As they dream of academic successes
(K)

ZIG-ZAG FOR THE SKY:
The same man sees everything,
Lights a cigarette,
Looks down the road,
Suddenly waving,
Then,
Lowering his head,
Returns to his observations,
Solitary,
Hair in a quiff,
1950’s,
Documents nothing,
Commits it all to memory,
The tables are sticky,
But he’s got the right trainers
(K)

AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD:
The same man sits at a table by the road every morning,
Him & me are the only ones who come here every day,
We never speak to one another,
Nor even nodded,
It’s our thing,
Comforting
(K)

AND SOME FELL ON STONEY GROUND:
The angry woman keeps ranting,
I’m soaking up her anger,
Starting to shake,
She complains about everything,
She’s lost it,
She knows the reason behind everything,
She’s got the fix,
She doesn’t hear the music,
Everyone she meets talks fast,
Like it’s the end of the world,
Maybe it is,
What’s the time?
