Wednesday 8th November

BLACK JACKET, LITTLE BLACK JACKET:

Hello oh little vegetables,
The flowers you left,
Your phone humming,
Growling,

Two plugs,
One-Ten,
Two-Twenty,
Charge the razor,

Turtle neck,
Woah!
What do you want?
More?

What’s your number?
Twelve Forty Five,
Ship sails at Ten,
Three-Ten,
What’s your number?

Tuesday 7th November

CHARLIE PARKER:

Come blow your horn,
I’m thinking too many words,
Can’t describe how I feel,
Fruit tastes like soap,
Everyone dressed in Black stares at me,
Accusing,
A steady beat in the background,
Like a funeral,

Shaking on the inside,
Overloaded,
Eyes & simpering voices,
Asking how I am,
Follow me,

Stay hard,
Stay light,
Go deep,
But don’t give me that sugar coated,
Loaded,
Fake concern,
Fear of an unknown storm.
Charlie Parker,
Come blow your horn

Monday 6th November

AND THEN THE FLOWERS TURN PINK:

I’m shaking,
Fragile,
Black light,
Delicate porcelain cup perched on the edge of a table,

Too many nuts,
Not enough fruit,
Too much information,
Strange deliveries,
Blue flowers dancing,

Tiny woman walks in with cruel eyes,
Dressed as a raven,
Black on Black,
She repeats,
“That’s what’s so sad to me”
Then laughs,
Like cracking rust,
Hunched like her life is poison

Sunday 5th November

WOUND THE SKY:

Park the car,
Kiss,
Drive away,

The place we go on leaving,
Receiving,
Transmitting,

The drop off,
Destination,
Separation,
Car-wash emotion,

Walk,
Feel clean,
Air,
Keep walking,
Have we got everything?
I get some really weird messages

Friday 3rd November

A DOOR OPENS:

Click,
I thought you were asleep,
But you’ve returned to wake the hurt,
Click,
The door,
That familiar tone,
That loaded voice,

The dark wakes up,
Leaves the light on,
Slow shuffles,
Are you sleeping here then?

Lay on top of the bed fully clothed,
Listening to late night radio,
Alarms & consequences,
Meditation,
Pen & ink,

I wont be gone long,
I’m coming back,
Promise?
Yeah,
I promise

Wednesday 1st November

I HAD A CRAZY IDEA THAT WOULDN’T HURT ANYONE:

I called a friend on the other side of the world,
He was in bed,
In the time zone,
But he didn’t mind,

He said it was a crazy idea,
The kind that was great,
And got excited,
You could hear it in his breathing,
Said it would definitely happen,
Or,
It was never going to stand a chance,
Because it involved a bloke,
Who had a reputation,
A legend,
Who took no prisoners,

It was part of the attraction,
Driven by intuition,
Can’t explain,
But it’s obvious,
I’m not interested in business,
I’m drawn to creation,
And everything is changing,
All the molecules are moving,
And time is counting down

Monday 30th October

PULLING:

I could stay here all day,
This corner,
Watching the world,
Ignoring deadlines,
Causing problems,
Wearing t-shirts without slogans,
Filling books with words,
Tired of familiarity,
Relentlessly,
Restlessly,
Tied,

My favourite,
My familiar,
Enters backwards,
Steps through doorways,
Carrying selections of hot things on trays,
Hangdog,
Rinsed of disdain
Steps to the sunny side honey

Sunday 29th October

BLACK DOT ON THE LIP OF THE CUP LEFT BY ANOTHER MOUTH:

Scandalous porcupine,
Selective union,
Oh yeah,

She wants leaders,
So precarious,
Talking about emigrating to the other side of the world,

Subterranean puppet shop,
Down on the rocks,
Everyday spirit-line,
Table-tapped vibration,
Connection to the other side,
The mouth talks to it’s self behind the hand
