MUSIC FOR UNDERGROUND SPACES:

A subterranean choir,
Whose melodies continually evolve,
Sings fragments of sentences,
Words found on the streets above,
Transforming the sonic landscape of underground spaces,
With a sound that invites us in,
Makes us feel good,
Want to stay,

RADIO INSTRUMENT:

Two radios tuned to different channels, converse
One radio tuned between channels, detects rhythms of interference
Two radios tuned to the same channel, one digital, one analogue,
one sending messages to the other from the future
Three radios, all tuned between stations, sing a beautiful noise
Three radios arranged in a circle, all tuned to different stations
A corridor of radios all tuned between channels
A corridor of radios, alternately digital & analogue, tuned to the
same station
One car radio tuned to AM utilises the travelling of the car to find
transmissions.

I BELIEVE IN LIKE WELL Y’KNOW:

So
Well
I mean
What I mean is
Like
Er
In my opinion
What I’m trying to say is
Ah
Well
The thing is
And as well
Um
Ah
So
If I could just
In my experience
But
And also
If I think about it
Like
Could I just?
Er
Might I just?
Um
I mean
It’s only my opinion but
But
But
Like
Well
If it was up to me
Might I say something?
What I’ve been thinking
Is
Is
Is
Well
I mean
Like
I’m not normally
However
What I’m trying to say is
Er
Er
Really
Really
Really
I mean
So
Yeah
Kind’ve
Hmm
Yeah
And
And
Yeah
I think
My
My
Um
Ahhh
I think
Ha ha ha
I wonder
I would say
But I mean
So
And
And
I just thought
I think
But
Look
So
So anyway
D’ya know?
I dunno but
Right
Well
I mean
I know but
Ok
And er
But
You
You
Or
Oh
So
Er
So

ROMANTICS:

I had this story I was going to tell you about a couple who
checked into a hotel room. She shaved her legs whilst he listened
to the music of Pauline Oliveros. It reminded him of a time
he used to tune in to Long Wave radio broadcasts as a boy,
losing himself in the magic of random chatterings. She
eventually got bored & started watching her favourite soap,
he eventually turned the lights off & fell asleep to the music
of traffic outside their window, – it was a magic night.

ON THAT CHEERY NOTE:

What do you want?
How bad do you want it?
What’s your budget?
What’s your deadline?
Life line?
What’s the time?
How long have we got?

I’ve run out of ideas,
Sent the last of the messages,
Liberated,
Broke the habit,
For a minute,
Crawling on the floor,
Hiding under chairs,

Peek-a-boo,
Sweet star,
Tears,
Sleeping in dust with a swagger,
Guess where I am?
Like a fan,
Blowing,

Here comes Mickey,
As a t-shirt with attitude,
Now everything will be alright,
Cheer up my son,
