DELIVER US FROM THE BURDEN OF FRAILTY:
says the radio in the shower, makes me laugh out loud, makes the
elephant fall off, as the organist of Llandaff Cathedral lays down
a heavy one.

SLEEPING IN THE RAIN:
Drove for and hour & a half to cover a forty minute journey.
Rush hour rain will do that to rolling metal. Had an emotional
meeting, left on a high, got wet walking, found a cafe for the
sacred porridge & acquired some peace & quiet between the ears.
The journey home took forty minutes as expected. Parked up
listening to the rain on the roof & could’ve fallen asleep
right there & then were it not for the need to be somewhere else
rehearsing for Madrid. The voice felt like it had been stored
in sawdust for months, but we got through without stopping.

BLACK CAR:
Up before dawn, shower, shave, porridge, tea. Food shop, quiet time for a drive and family bond. Catch the train to London. Find a cafe for black tea & bacon sarnie, record a show for 6Music. Reunite with Noel Gallagher, catch the train out of the city, buy chocolate, smoothly & wrap. Park up on a mud track between the fields.

HEAD IN A THORN BUSH, THORN BUSH IN A HEAD:
Got up early to take advantage of the quiet, but as I typed
was caught in a deluge of information that drove me to a
corner of a cafe where the staff were dressed for Halloween.
A young stud ordered coffee wearing a full body stocking,
uncertain how he would drink with his head in a lycra bag.
I laughed into my notebook clocking wide eyed giggles of
the women checking out the rest of his suit.

START AGAIN:
The sky was built out of ribbons of pinks this morning
before sunrise. I made the mistake of resting my head
on my arms on the kitchen table instead of the usual
one foot in front of the other. OK, let’s start again,
