ESCAPING:
A heavy suitcase,
Rolled between seats,
A face turning to look,
Wreathed in blonde,
Looks for too long,
Mistletoe,
Silver birch,
And the smell of Orange peel,
This season,
It’s a long way from anywhere full-on

NOW I’M ON A TRAIN:
My ticket’s punched,
Everyone is listening to somewhere else,
Silence,
Two voices only,
Ask each other questions,
As the scenery slips away
(K)

THEY’RE PLAYING CARDS TONIGHT:
The last night,
The first night of all the others back on Earth,
They’re collecting glasses in all the bars,
And no one’s calling time,
It’s getting late,
Deal the cards,
I’ll watch your back
(K)

YOU SAID, “TALK OF THE DEVIL!”:
When I walked it,
I thought I had a great idea,
Was that you,
Whispering?
(K)

COUNTING STATIONS:
The names of places,
The faces that look down and ignore them,
The people who ignore one another,
I’m getting out,
I’m walking!
(K)

TONIGHT I’M RIDING TRAINS:
Into the city,
When I should be asleep
(K)

I FIND IT HARD TO FOCUS:
Or hold more than one thing in my head,
There’s no room in my head for anything else,
It’s full of noise,
I don’t want to change the world,
Just turn the noise down
(K)

DROVE HOME LATE TO AVOID THE TRAFFIC:
Got some sleep,
Woke up feeling normal,
Not even tired,
Drove into town,
Met some people,
Saw the sun in a Blue sky,
Then saw the first sign that something wasn’t right
(K)

HOW DID WE GET HERE?:
I woke up,
Did a day’s work,
Saw some people,
Heard some stuff I don’t understand,
Didn’t think much of it at the time,
Then it hit me
(K)

ALL THE STARS ARE PAPER:
You’re better off following your nose,
Not mine,
I’m sat in the light,
Not alone this time,
Waiting,
But not waiting for you,
You’ve gone off to another room,
You’re not coming back,
I’m waiting
