Wednesday 10th April

TOKYO STORY:
As my band climbed back into the sky as I rode the Shinkansen
north back to Tokyo, Spring in full bloom & sunlight casting
shadows thick & black that made my camera sing. Photographed
& interviewed ’till 9:00pm. Then a phone interview with the
Sun back home from a downtown alley under street lights where
even this time of night the air is warm. Writing emails &
online Q&A’s ’till 2:00am, lobby call 08:30, being followed
by a film crew for three hours round the city.
Back home it’s bin day – this week it’s recyclables collection.

  1. Ah, I remember Sof ‘Boy.
Bin day in Tokyo involves a lot more separation into neatly tied string bundles and hand labeled bags – it looks impressive but I miss the ease of England.

  2. I couldn’t survive on a long, disrupted sleep cycles. My feet and head would float off the the planet especially without anyone to hold the string. I suffer when I’m single. Not a good thing. However, imagining Japan in Springtime. The term “Cherry Blossoms” is synonymous with “Spring” as the most traditional haiku will refer to the season in the second line of the poem. Lots of haiku tumbling out of me of late, in recall of my late wife’s date of death.

    P.S. It’s Karen’s Birthday. And your’s is one month away. (^_-)
