Sunday 10th November

WE TWO BOYS TOGETHER CLINGING:

Cruising for poetry & weirdness on the streets of Beautiful
Buenos Aires. Last night, in the big field, surfing on the
energy of 50,000 smiling faces. Rick pulls curves out the
hat creating a new set on the fly, beats & grooves that take
us higher than a substance-less boy should be able to go.
We play right up the the wire, curfew button being pressed as
Rick dubs us out, we laugh, hugging, waving to the crowd,
some of whom dance in bubble heads & catch out eye, some lost
in blissed-out revery. Argentina is a beautiful place to be.
we walk quiet back to the dressing room, grinning to each
other in the dark, Rick leads us singing christmas songs
on the the bus, there’s laughter. Back in the hotel bar I’m
greeting by cheers & beaming faces,

“How do you do it Karl?!” they ask

I want to stop the world, put my arm around my brother & yell,
“Do you want to know my secret!?”

It’s in the groove, it’s always been in the groove. Without it
I couldn’t do what I do. The dance of good energy, surfing on
smiles, the impossible, everything comes from the groove &
the groove comes from my brother.

  1. You are so poetic, so creative, and a pleasure. I’ve only recently really discovered your music and am entranced watching you perform King of Snake (at Pinkpop in the Netherlands?). The way you feel the music is so apparent, your smiles and complete immersion in the song is captivating. Who needs artificial substances for a high when you have the real thing in your art. Much respect to you and Rick. Love your music.

  2. Thank you so much for your word, Karl. But most, thank you for the show. You music is with me since 1994. You’ve made me company in lots of afternoons, nights, important moments of my life, and it inspired me in ways that you could never imagine.
I know Argentina is so far from your home, so for me it wad just incredible, after all these years, to stand up in front of you and dance, enjoy and feel thar magic power that your music is for me.
You’ll probably never know me, but I just wante you to know that a single moment like yesterday night for you stays with me forever. Thank you so much for your music and company. Regards from Buenos Aires
    Thanks

You’ll probably never know me, i’m just one of them for you, but I just wanted you to kwow that may be a moment in yu

  3. Although currently in Los Angeles, I’m a Buenos Aires native who got to fly for a few minutes to his native pastures when reading your words !! Thanks for the trip. Hope to travel with you soon… Abrazo de Gol de Maradona!!!!
