WONDERLAND:
 
Woke up in a shoebox hotel room, tasting of Thai Curry 
& last night’s streets. Buffet without conversation, 
poetry had gone to ground. Bottled water & a hang-over 
from missing you, the fields & the bird song. Got my 
ticket out of town tonight, but I’m following a groove
first, take me down the rabbit hole.

    Hey Karl,

    Your post reminded me of this classic old RAVE song from the 90’s. The video’s pretty cheesy, but the song is really good. I used to be a Raver Girl back in the 90’s–actually, I’m still a Raver, I just haven’t gone to any raves for several years. Anyway, before that I used to be kind’ve of a gothic girl, and I went out to gothic clubs and danced to your music back in the Underneath the Radar days. Then, around 1993, I started listening to trance music and going to Raves (and my life got REALLY GOOD and I started having more FUN than I realized people could ever have), and I became a raver girl right around the same time that Dubnobasswithmyheadman came out and Underworld entered the MK2 phase.

    Looking back, it’s really obvious to me now that TRANCE MUSIC RAISES CONSCIOUSNESS in a really beautiful way for a lot of us, and Music can play an essential role in people’s spiritual lives. I have a feeling that you guys, as Musicians, really understand this on a deep level, even if you don’t talk about it in words. It’s like Musicians hold the Key to unlock the potential for their friends and fans to go into a Powerful Spiritual Trance State when they hear their Music. I also get the feeling that your non-musician fans (for whom your music generates true spiritual enthusiasm) could do something else that you would like, maybe working with words or verbal expression instead of music, that could come back to you and generate a spiritual trance for you that’s slightly different but equally powerful.

    Anyways, I have a really amazing fantasy life. I have lots of really engaging and juicy fantasies, and there’s a lot of people out there who would do anything to have my fantasy life. Its so cool. I have all these hot and exciting fantasies that go on all day long, and sometimes they even last for days. I totally love it. It’s so much more interesting and fun than almost anything else that could be happening, that I hardly care about anything else. I don’t even think about a lot of the mundane stuff going on around me because my fantasies are so much better. It really captures my attention, and I’m totally loving every single moment of this. I can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen next…
