  1. K, lovely Daddy’s Car led me to be looking at this picture today and triggers me to invite you to a small exhibition in London next week…my feeling is it will be a piece of you. We met at your own exhibition around a decade ago just for a second…there is probably a better way to connect but if you see this here and can access my email please do get in touch for show details, it will be a good fit if you can make it

    • Andrea–you are hilarious! I love your posts. I was laughing so hard after reading your last reply (from May 8th), and I love some of the music and picture links you’ve posted too. Thanks! Love, Cari

  2. Hey Karl,
I dreamed that it was your birthday, and I took you out, and we had a really good time. (Actually, I have this really amazing fantasy life (that some people are even envious of) and I have these really hot and exciting fantasies that are so vivid and engaging that sometimes it’s hard to tell them apart from “real-life”.) Anyway, I hope you had as much fun as I did on your birthday.
I want to show you this really cool movie, if you want to watch it. It’s called “Asoka”, and it’s an Indian “musical” movie with english subtitles. The characters are interesting & well-developed, and the actors & actresses who play them are really hot & attractive, and there’s lots of beautiful imagery & symbolism (for example, bird symbols, images of fire and stuff like that). I could go on & on for days talking about all the significant and meaningful stuff I find in this film, but most of all, I think it does a good job of illustrating the “dual” (and seemingly contradictory) sides to a person’s nature, and how it’s possible to get beyond the duality, and fully embrace and express both sides of our nature in a balanced way, and this film shows how everybody has two gifts–one that develops first and can be used to survive, and another that’s hidden in the unconscious mind and emerges later and can make people truly happy–and initially, we may not be able to see our own second gift waiting to emerge, but our friend may be able to see it in us before we can. This film raises interesting questions about WHO we are, and WHO we can Become. Some of my favorite parts are: when Asoka (a prince/warrior who’s hiding the fact that he’s a prince and pretending to be an ordinary traveler instead) meets the sage who can see his Destiny; the two very beautiful characters (Kaurwaki, a princess & Devi, a compassionate Buddhist) and the contrast between them; the interaction between Asoka (a prince) and Arya (a 6-year old prince who just lost his parents) and how they start telling a story about their own life as they’re living it and how it gets REALLY engaging; the way that the movie portrays/makes visible the psychic connections and communication between Kaurwaki & Arya and Asoka, and how this is symbolized partly through birds; the musical song in part 8 where Kaurwaki is dancing and singing on a raft floating through the water; and the part when Kaurwaki sees Devi handing out food to the hungry/homeless, but Devi doesn’t see her, and neither of them know/realize how they’re connected.
If you do end up watching it, I hope you enjoy it. Happy Birthday. Love, Cari
