Unknown-2

PAASPOP FESTIVAL:

I see a man with the face of a cartoon cat painted on the back of
his black jacket, tip-toe through puddles before breakfast.
I watch a man clean his teeth in a field, spit with a serious
dedication between the bins. Piles of yesterday, discarded.
A chiselled face launches into the day behind Velvet shades,
knuckles clutching paper coffee, groovin’ in twos through mud
in skinny jeans.

FAKE SNAKE TWINS:

Pouting leans against white walls dressed gossamer wire thin.
Handful of vision, jumper full of owls, weed of roots,
pumpkin head underneath an arm. Bee hat, potato in heels,
honey fingers, a face of wild roses. Asteroid boy, retro future.
Limbo animal chair, sniper in shades, leans against white walls
in a bowery stance.

HELLO FACE IN A TINY MIRROR:

Finger smoothing skin between frantic calls. A name, a document
chased, unsigned. Languishing somewhere grey with the power to
liberate colour. Secrets of a deep bag marooned on the lap of a
tired woman sparking up the vista with fresh lippy. Zip & leather.
An alabaster face looks back across a shoulder, powder white,
longing for the sun. Distant eyes, a memory, a dream learning
French as a foreign language.

STACK THE ZIG ZAG:

Clean the gutters. Make everything pristine, re-set to zero.
Fast cars, black cars, waiting outside hotels for pick-ups.
A train, a banana, Toy Town, Media City humming, hissing,
transmitting to the world. A fly, trying to escape, crashes
a window that never opens. Lone men walk with pockets full of
knuckles , cases run on wheels, following signs to tv gardens.
Get balls through hoops on patches of green surrounded by
high security fences, locked gates, keep ’em out.
New universe.

START HERE, GO ANYWHERE:

Walk the dog, smoke & fire, scorpion pig, ticket 126.
When you number’s called keep your distance discrete.
Snap summer memories in instamattic colours fade.
A car drives slow into a city with absolute love.
Drive-thru coffee, Super jungle sweet, simplicity
& left-handed cool.

LOVE & TOLERANCE:

Ragged rabbit doll reads the menu aloud to a crowd, like a poem.
Sugar in a jar, chunky toast & brioche watched from the outside
by mothers in lycra.
Fresh wandering dog. Modern Dad, hands in pockets, looks around
with a distant face. Stubble skill.
Daisy chain crown,
Knuckle pillow,
Mad dog cake.

BARBARA BARBARA MANNHEIM:

First time morning rice milk in a bowl with something grown in
a field & banana. Slipping fast down autobahns with pre-office
speedsters. Silhouette trees hallelujah dance by the side of
roads concealing Spring’s first bloom on the limbs of naked bushes.
Fat houses squat at curbside adorned in generic signatures,
hand-me-down tags of 3rd generation night crawlers. Mug of tea,
telephone ringing, sat alone on cold stone overlooking
dressage arenas carpeted in tiny shreds of clay-dipped rag. I cut
my finger on a piece of glass listening to a voice transmitting
light from Lisbon. Man who gave freely.

Today, our friends Liima release their album.
