LIGHTER FLICKER:

Driving late between there & here, following tail light trails
to sit by the river miles from here. Empty streets, only the
rhythm of stray paper scraps to dance to the beat of our feet.
Something sweet to ignite a thrill, counting stone faces, the
marks of time & passing, the generations recorded on the chaotic
facades of Ely cathedral. We drift back to the river, where it’s
no more quiet than anywhere here, slip orange paper bands around
our wrists to watch our friends Holden Girls‘ first gig of the
summer.
Who was on the lights tonight – the switcher?

  1. Got to say it, i hope you are reading Karl, Rick, but I was there at 10am clicked on buy now and suprise….no tickets……you can buy them on ebay though. Well done to you for.. I feel a con. Well at least it saves me a trip to the capitalist capital…lots of love from Walesxxxx

  2. I adore driving round the bends of the fens at night, especially when the rain is tinkling and polishing the road; with the glow of the moon as high as my head is when your beats carry me across the fields and over the embedded lengths of mirror beneath the bridges.

Wow! To think you were only 40 minutes away at Ely!
    Best wishes, Gem.
